About Peter

Since I can remember, I’ve had an interest in photography. But it wasn’t until some friends asked me to photograph their wedding that I began to take it more seriously. The wedding went well, some other friends saw the photographs and also booked me. The ball started to roll, and eventually I had enough bookings to become a full-time, professional photographer.

Please check out my official Wedding Photography Northern Ireland website here

Based in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, I focus mostly on wedding photography. I have a relaxed style – I aim to have as much fun with my clients as possible. I have always recognised that a wedding day is just that – a wedding day and not a photo shoot! So I aim to be as quick, as relaxed and as fun as possible while ensuring I get the photographs required for a great album. I take a lot of candid photographs (some people call it journalistic style), but I also include a good range of ‘semi-posed’ photographs. ‘Semi-posed’ just means that I place a couple in a beautiful location, but the end result is still relaxed and natural. There’s nothing worse than a really formal, wooden pose!

When it comes to albums, a key differentiator between me and the competition are my storybook albums. I find many storybooks to be overly cluttered and sometimes a little ‘tacky’. I tend to offer more pages in my storybooks, but keep the layouts simple and plain – the result is definetly high impact!

I’m a Licensiate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

I also have a love for technology. I use the very latest Nikon equipment. If you are interested, I am currently using a Nikon D3 as my main body, coupled with a Nikon SB900 flash gun, Quantum battery pack and a range of other backup units, reflectors etc. Indeed I’m aware that when I carry it around, the whole lot is almost worth more than my car!  In a previously life I used to be a web developer – and that love of the internet continues. You can find me on twitter, facebook, my official website , Linked In and ofcourse this blog.
